The batting you choose is a personal choice that can influence the look and feel of your finished quilt. For the best quilting results, I recommend using a good quality batting that’s uniform in thickness. While you’re welcome to supply your own batting, I stock a range of Matilda's Own batting for your convenience.
To ensure you have enough batting for your project, the most cost-effective way is to purchase the exact amount needed: 8 inches (20cm) wider and longer than your quilt top. For detailed guidance please see the Quilt Preparation Guide.
Matilda's Own batting is machine washable. The rolled batting is 2.4 metres wide and is cut to the exact size required for your quilt (priced per metre). I also offer King Size Pre-cut options (measuring 3.1 x 3.1 metres).
